Title of artwork: Tent of Despair

Stock #: bs_035

About this artwork: Tent of Despair-A nurse volunteering with "Doctors Without Borders" tries to find a vein in a small Kurdish girl's forehead to insert a life-saving IV needle. The child's mother looks away. The two men, lower left, also Kurdish refugees, had carried their mother, already unconscious, up the mountain to the tent also hoping for a miracle. There weren't many miracles in the Isikveren refugee camp that day in 1991.
